Dental Crowns

WHAT ARE DENTAL CROWNS?

When a single tooth is worn down or damaged, it can be strengthened and protected by a custom crown. Sometimes called a cap, crowns are custom made to fit snugly over the needed tooth while matching the color of your surrounding teeth for a seamless and natural look. Enhanced Smiles offers crowns to protect a weak tooth, treat a large cavity, cover discoloration, and restore a cracked tooth. Our team of board-certified dental professionals uses high-grade porcelain crowns that look natural and improve your overall smile. BEST CANDIDATES FOR DENTAL CROWNS

Custom dental crowns may be recommended in a variety of cases. They may be needed to prevent a tooth from breaking when it is weakened by decay or to hold together a cracked tooth. Dental crowns may also be needed to fix a tooth that is worn down or loose. Crowns can also serve as a covering and support when a dental cavity has become too big for a normal filling, as part of a dental bridge, and to cover misshapen or discolored teeth. Our crowns are custom made with high-quality materials and are secured using advanced technology to make sure you have a restoration that lasts a long time and looks beautiful.

They are typically used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a root canal. When decay in a tooth has become so advanced that large portions of the tooth must be removed, crowns are often used to restore the tooth.

Dental Crowns are also used to attach bridges, cover implants, prevent a cracked tooth from becoming worse, or an existing filling is in jeopardy of becoming loose or dislocated. Crowns also serve an aesthetic use and are applied when a discolored or stained tooth needs to be restored to its natural appearance.

Crowns: A dental crown is an ideal restoration when a tooth has become cracked or  broken and needs to be repaired or protected. The crown is like a tooth-shaped cap that  is cemented over your natural tooth. This restores the strength and appearance of your  tooth and solidifies your smile. Our crowns are tooth-colored and blend in with your   smile. What’s more, these beautiful and durable crowns can be created in a single-visit thanks to our CEREC® technology Learn more about crowns here!

    TREATMENT AFTERCARE

Since the placement appointment only needs local anesthesia, you will be able to leave our office once your restoration is set to resume your normal activities. A member of our team will go over how to care for your porcelain crown, including food to avoid and the best way to keep it clean. We highly recommend all patients come back for a bite adjustment after getting a crown to make sure their alignment is perfect. Bite complications are almost unavoidable since the patient’s mouth is numb but are easily fixed. Just call Enhanced Smiles. During your exams at our office, Dr. Pham will check your restoration and make sure it feels comfortable. Dr. Pham will talk to you when your crown should be replaced; however, with good care, a restoration can last for a long time. If you have any problems with your crown (e.g., it becomes loose or falls out), contact us for help. Don't attempt to put it back in or repair it because this may cause bigger problems, such as an infection or discomfort.
