Teeth Whitening

Make your teeth up to 10X whiter in just 1 visit or 2 weeks

Professional teeth whitening is among the most popular cosmetic dental procedures because it can quickly and effectively lighten your teeth by removing stains and discoloration and leave you with a bright, brilliant sheen. For many, a brighter smile means improved self-confidence and greater enthusiasm for living life to its fullest.

It is an unfortunate truth that as we age our teeth become stained and may lose their vibrant white glow. However, our cosmetic dentist in Gastonia, NC is able to help you rediscover your smile with teeth whitening

We offer a few whitening options, depending on your personal needs.

Why do teeth change color?

There are several causes of tooth discoloration, including food and drinks like coffee, tea, wine and tobacco. Medications and disease can also cause discoloration, and your teeth naturally darken with age.

How does Teeth Whitening work?

Teeth whitening is a simple process. Whitening products contain one of two tooth bleaches (hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide). These bleaches break stains into smaller pieces, which makes the color less concentrated and your teeth brighter.

Over-the-Counter Teeth Whitening vs. Professional Teeth Whitening

First, for the most part, it is safe. Most any product you can get from a pharmacy is ok to use. We strongly discourage people from buying products from unknown companies on the internet or eBay though. There is very little monitoring of these products and many of the companies making them are fly by night. Beware of individuals selling name brand gels and creams too. Especially if it is something you can only get from a dentist. These products typically have a short shelf life and need to be handled and transported carefully or they are rendered useless. Most important is the fact that some chemicals can cause irreversible damage to your teeth and gums

The best way to get your teeth whitened is at your dentist’s office. The dentist can make sure that you are a good candidate and determine which type of whitening would be the most appropriate for you.

    Professional Teeth Whitening Options

In our office, we have many different options for whitening your teeth as well as maintaining the result. This is especially important if you are having any dental work done like dental crowns, porcelain veneers, composite resin veneers. Crowns and veneers will not react the same to teeth whitening chemicals as your natural teeth will, and of course, you want everything to match well. At Enhanced Smiles, we can help you develop a strategy specifically designed for you that will fit into your budget and lifestyle, allowing you to keep your new gleaming smile as white and bright tomorrow and in the years to come, as it is today.

    Bleaching Services

Bleaching and non-bleaching products are the two basic kinds of teeth whitening products available today.

Non-bleaching products normally use abrasives or chemicals and only remove surface stains on teeth.

Bleaching products work with a chemical called peroxide and can brighten your teeth several shades.

Another process employs the use of a special gel that is placed inside a flexible device you wear around your teeth for a certain period. After you remove the device, you must use a second bleaching agent, followed by a special light to activate the chemical action.

Mildly stained teeth usually only require one session of bleaching.

Dr. Pham will discuss the ideal choice to meet your cosmetic goals. Call our office today to get a step closer to your best smile.
